After completing the changing table/dresser, I went to work on a crib with similar design elements. The crib is made from hard maple and maple plywood. The end panels are joined to the front and back panels using connecting bolts and steel cross-dowels, but I’ve had a lot of trouble using the cross-dowels. Apparently, I cinched the bolts a bit too tightly and the plywood in which the cross-dowels were embedded was a bit too soft. I’ve replaced some of the plywood elements with solid maple with satisfactory results.
Like the changing table, this project was finished with three coats of satin polyurethane.
