Pine Buffet

I was hired by a client to build a buffet for her dinning room in an old country home. Her other furnishings are all pine so I purchased some mature eastern white pine to do the job. As you can see in one of the pics the boards were very wide, ranging from 14” to 24”. The boards in the picture are on my workbench which has a 36” top and is a foot narrower than the two boards on top of it. I didn’t take many pics of the progress and no it was not my idea to stain it, I had to match the dinning room table in color. Though I don’t work with pine often it was a real pleasure building this. The finish I used over the stain is Waterlox original, one of my favorite finishes for a variety of reasons. I believe 5 coats were used and then rubbed out to settle out the sheen some.

Nicely accomplished! I like the double-paneled door.

This is beautiful and what a wonderful job that you did on it.

You certainly turned that pine into a first-class cabinet. Nice workmanship. Thanks for posting and welcome to LumberJocks.

I love it! It is a beautiful piece of work. Hope the client is happy, but I’m sure she will be.
