Cribbage anyone?

Made these for the in-law white elephant christmas. top came from spalted hard maple. Sides are Walnut. The two pictures are of the same box, I made two identical boards.

No I didn’t drill 800+ holes. I’m not that dedicated. I just took the two tops and tacked them together with some spray 77 and only had to drill 400 holes.

The bottom nests into the top, I made the overlap by routing a groove on one side of the stock, then built the box as a solid piece. After the glue dried I cut the box along the bottom of the routed groove, then routed a matching groove in the bottom piece. It’s the first time I tried this and it worked really well.

Board is finished with tung oil

I just did a cribbage board. I like the doubling up. My next one (or two) will be part of a box. Thanks for the ideas.
