This is a display case that was built for a member of the Maryland Air National Guard who will be retiring soon. This piece was built from red oak and stained in mahogany and finished in a clear gloss. Unit is 23”wide x 35” high x 4” deep.

Great looking box. Don’t forget to get a picture of it after everything is mounted. I always forget myself and say to myself….next time I’ll remember….I do about half the time..ha. Again, great looking box. I am sure you are going to get a ton of oooohs and ahhhhhs when its presented.

That’s a fine looking display case. I make one like it and was wondering how you connect the side pieces to the top and bottom stripes? I use a spline that runs the entire length and am always looking for a better way.

Thanks for the compliments, Paul I have done this two different ways, one is to use my biscuits cutter and then modify the biscuit, glue and clamped. The other method was use my nail gun, then using some of the fine dust from sanding, I’ll mix it with some glue and most of the time you can’t see where it was nailed.
