I like the table and LOVE the benches. Whenever I have a table that has been around too long I give it away to a good friend or family member for a birthday or holiday gift. :) So my advice for what it’s worth is to keep the benches for the next table and give this table away. :)

Loneframer maybe try routing-out a simple design and paint it or inlay of some kind.Don’t take it apart, keep working with it it is a cool table.

It is a cool table- your wife loves it. Give to her. :)

It’s a cool cedar table, it’ll look even better years from now when it’s gray and silver and the soft wood between the growth rings at the ends is gone. Your wife should keep it, let everybody else eat crow.

Looks like everything you’re doing is in natural mode. Do you do finishes? As Devan says it will be a great piece a few years from now. But you might be able to bring that along? Nice work!
