This floor lamp is a little more than five feet high and has a halogen bulb for reading. The shade
is cherry and rice paper and the base and stem are spruce and mahogany. It was inspired by some
Frank Lloyd Wright lighting he designed for his home in Wisconsin he called Taliesen ( Shining Brow.)
The shade, having no structure on the corners, was a complement to his fondness for the cantilever
that allowed him to not use corner posts on walls and have the window glass wrap around the corners.

Very nice.
I’ve been to Taliesen a couple of times and I always come away inspired to make something like what I saw there. I have not done that so far.
I recall desk lamps in this style but I don’t recall a floor lamp like this. I probably just missed it.
I keep thinking I want to make one of the pendant lamps you see on this page as a floor lamp.

It’s on my long term to-do list.
