Hello All,
When we moved into this house the living room fireplace kind of stuck out into the room not lending itself to any sort of “Traditional” entertainment center. We initially had two cheap cabinets on either side to hold our electronics and the TV just sat on top of the mantle but that also crowded the room. So I set about to solve this unique problem and this is what I came up with. I had wanted to build it out of Baltic Birch Ply but according to my local lumber yard it’s becoming scarce so I went with Red Birch ply instead which still worked out fine since it was going to be painted anyway.
I needed it to support the weight of the TV so all the panels are 1.5” thick and the cabinet interiors are flush with the openings which I think makes a nice design feature as well.
I’ve been woodworking for years but feel there is always something to new to learn, hence that’s why I’m here to share and learn. Thanks for the great site. I’ll post some pictures of my 5th wheel renovation soon.
Thanks again,
Irwin

Irwin, Belated welcome to the site. Lots of great people to learn from and share ideas with.
The entertainment center looks great. Over the fireplace tvs are becoming more popular these days but never are set up to actually hold them correctly. Thi ssolves the problem nicely.
