My wife and daughter have horses and needed some stands for there saddles so i made two the same works great to keep the saddle in form. also nice storage for brushes and horse stuff under. project is done in pine again with clear coat. also included a pic of the hay storage made out of cedar and caped of with oak so they don’t chew on the cedar still have to put the roof on. no wasted hay this year.

My wife sees this project post and I’m hosed!!! My wife and two daughters are horse fanatics. Good luck on the chewing issue. I don’t think there is a species of wood they won’t chew on. Good looking stands and hay feeder. I like the bridle post on the end.

Hey there Derek, that looks like it serves Your Wife and Daughter very well and comes in real handy ! The design and rustic look are perfect for its intentions. I was commissioned to design/build something just like this a while back and not finding any relative info on the internet , I just kind of winged it and surprisingly our stands look very much alike. The client wanted a display stand for a prize saddle He had won in a show. It is posted in my projects page if You are interested. I am glad to see another version of this type of stand and that its design is something that is practical and used as a real work horse in the field (pun intended) !

Once again, nice project and I am sure Your loved ones appreciate it, as well as their horses too !!

Take care and be safe, ROB
