I started out trying to figure out what I could make for a couple of guys at work for Christmas. It had to meet some critical requirements….something origninal, something homemade, and something that was reasonably priced. Original-check, homemade-check, price-purchased the pattern and made with scrap wood-check.

The first picture is from the pattern….I purchase the pattern from Meisel It is basically 3/4” stock low grade pine. I did minimal shaping, only used a standard round over router bit and sanded. I used craft paint and some eyes purchased from the local craft store. The two round items mounted in the final pic are actual 20MM casings from an F-18 hornet. They go with the theme of what we do for a living where I work.

I could tell they were starting to come to life when my little Jack Russel started sniffing and barking at it as seen in one of the pictures.

I can’t sell due to copyrights but willing to donate a copy to anyone intersted, just PM me. Prefer to fax a copy as that is the easiest way for me to send.

Nice work there. They give a nice place for the keys to hang also.
