A friend of mine had to trim his oak tree to construct a new fence. Sincde I helped with the fence constuction, he gave me quite a bit of the limbs. I turned this wet and let it sit in its own shavings for a couple months before finishing it. My daughter is now its owner.

Looks like it dried up nicely! I am sure your daughter is grateful and quite proud!

Is black oak more like red oak or white? In the midwest, you can tell red by the pointy leaves—white has more rounded leaves. I am sure there are better ways to tell, but that is the one I know. :)
