The Butterfly Bench

The students finished up two of these butterfly benches today. Intended for outside use, with the lower shelf meant to hold muddy shoes/boots/cloven hooves. The butterfly motif was my design, so throw the blame on me. I was using this guy's work inspiration. Made out of recycled wood and paint, 18” h x 11” d x 36” l.

Great project to learn on.

How old are the students?

David Marsh would be proud. :) I really like the dash of color on the benches! I also like that you introduced your students to the work of a modern day folk artist! Nice work all the way around.

@ Jamie Sears

The students ranged from 9 to 18 – I work in private school for neurologically different students. Our programs guides students from age 4ish to twenties if necessary. Most of our students come for one to three years and then re-join the public school population.

Nice work, the splash of color makes it interesting.
