These are some cutting boards that were given as Christmas gifts this year. Many of you will recognize the design by Marc Spagnuolo, aka, The Wood Whisperer (http://thewoodwhisperer.com/). The cutting board videos are tilled “A Cut Above”, part 1 and part 2. Mine are made from hard rock maple and walnut and finished off with a food grade mineral oil. This was a fun project and it was even more fun to see the reactions of the people who received them.

wow, that is an impressive amount of cutting boards. My family received cutting boards for Christmas as well; probably there are many families across N. America who have Marc S. to thank for their Christmas gifts…

Manitario: I checked your homepage and couldn’t find pictures of your cutting boards. Did you post any? I would like to see them if you did.
jjwoodshop: Good luck with your cutting board(s) this weekend, I am sure you will enjoy the process. By the way, welcome to LumberJocks.
Radu: Thanks for the comment. I did get a little carried away at the lumber yard, just could’t pass on the beautiful maple and walnut. Turns out that for every person who received a cutting board, there were two or three more who would have liked to have one.
Denappy: Yeah, everyone was very happy. Thanks for the compliment.

Nice job, grain orientation is spot on. I have made over 100, looks like your close as well.
The smiles are always worth it when people recieve them. I came up with another pattern using the same cut list as the wood whisper but changing the order in the first glue up. Ck it out and if you like it I send to the info. keep it up!
