this box is made from walnut and Catalpa (the top edges and base). I finished it with many hand rubbed coats of poly-urathane followed with paste wax and buffing. Another gift, it was given as a wedding keepsake box for a good friend of mine. -- the journy of a thousand miles begins with a single step " Lou-Tzu"
