Few boxes

Few boxes, just for fun. There’s a large figured eucalyptus jewelry box, a raised lid walnut box, a bubinga and cherry coffee grinder with figured maple insert, a walnut/curly maple letter box, and a knotty maple/lyptus match box. I like the knotty-lidded box the best: I found the knot scrap on the ground in the Woodcraft parking lot; I burnt the dovetails with a small torch before assembly, and finished it with black Briwax. Weirdness all around for me. Some of the other boxes demonstrate my early dowel obsession (?) :)

All nice boxes Al. I especially liked the one with the knot on top, but they were all excellent otherwise. You seem to have box fever like so many of us. Unfortunately there is no cure. To relieve the pain you just have to make more boxes!

NIce boxes…Your dovetails look great, jig or hand cut? I really need to work on my skills in this area. I just recently bought a porter cable dovetail jig…I have played around with it a little, still trying to work out the kinks in it. For some reason my tails come up short sometimes…A little more time is need with it I think. Thanks for the complements on the mirror. I am very excited to have discovered this site. So many nice pieces, good luck to you and your projects.

Nice one, I have a plane digital for something like that.
Is that based on the Cabinet and Joiner plan? Looks great with stain and wood selection.
