Replacement Canoe Yoke

A friend of mine damaged his canoe yoke and recruited me for a replacement. Nothing fancy but I figured I’d share. I copied the yoke, gave it a bit of thickness, cut it on the bandsaw, spokeshaved the sides flat, then rounded it over with a guided bit. Gave the mahogany some poly & it’s off to the lake.

Thanks Ken! He seemed pleased. I had fun at least. I almost used the project as an excuse to build a shave horse!

Sorry, I need a buddy to look at this picture and you can’t attach photos to PM. I hid this in the most obscure project I have.

^lol, it didn’t occur to me that I’d bump this thread when I posted. Oh well. I had surgery a month ago for a broken ankle and I’m wondering if my foot should look like Barney’s, lol.

Speaking of Barney. Scott, do you remember when I hired Barney for Steve’s party? WTF?
