Got a lathe for Christmas (A Delta 46-455 model), so decided to start small with turning a few slimline pens from scrap
I also picked up Richard Raffan’s book on turning and decided to try to make a couple of tops out of construction grade lumber.
The pens from right to left (and ain order of creation) are:
Purplehear
Birch
Ash
purpleheart x 2 (with burned grooves)
My next project is a bit more ambitious – A segmented bowl :-D . I just don’t have any blanks big enough to make anything big.

congrats on the lathe!
Isn’t if fun to make a pen?
I hope I see your bowl when it is finished.
