I was asked, by the boss, if I could make a whirligig with a watering can and a flower. This is what I came up with. The watering can is driven by the propeller through a 3 to 1 reduction using pulleys. The flowers, two wood and two copper just spin in the wind.
She likes it. Lucky me.
I used Oak, Maple, Redwood and a little Cherry for the wood and finished it with Poly.
I didn’t use or draw any plans. Just drew it out on the wood. Most of the work was done with a Scroll Saw and a Mini Lathe.
Regards,

What does it do. Does the watering can tilt up and back? Nice workmanship.

Hi rikkor,
The watering can moves back and forth and appears to be watering the flowers. I had to setup the reduction to slow it down which also minimized the vibration.
