Here is an apple wall plaque.. My mom’s kitchen is decorated in apples, and right after new years, I went out to the shop and wanted to make something quick, so I came up with this. It’s made of knotty pine and stained dark. It’s about 10 inches wide, by 8 inches tall, including the stem. I wanted a 3d effect, so I used a chisel to shape the stem, and I also removed some wood in the middle to create a recess.
I actually was inspired by MsDebbieP on her website under woodworking, where she has a comment on the left that says “Knots of Wood – The Spirit of the Wood will tell you what to make, if you have the insight to look and listen.”
Not much, but these are the things that you do when you have a little time on your hands, plus, I really needed to get some kind of a project posted here :)

Wow – first project of the New Year I think. And you made it right after the New Year started? Must live in a rural area – my neighbors would have a stroke if I fired up the tools at that time of night :-)). Good looking apple – it should be the “apple of mom’s eye”.

well isn’t this new year starting off just lovely: not only do I get to see this work of art but i find out that I was an inspiration for a wood project. Can’t say that that has happened before!! lol :)
Great apple. And the knot is placed perfectly. It looks like either a highlight from the sun or a little ‘booboo”. Well done

Very cool. I lean towards the quick instant gratification projects myself.
