I have made several of these chairs for both myself and friends in my astronomy club. I make it out of oak and it will adjust in height by sliding the seat up or down depending on the eyepiece height. I initially got the pattern from a book called star ware. I modified the plans a little. This type of chair is very useful if you have a dobsonian telescope.

I just have a dob now. Started with 80MM refractor then a Schmidt cassingrain. A guy down in Stafford, Texas made my current dob which is a Z-scope. I moved up from the Houston Area in 2002. I was a member of Fort Bend Astronomy in Sugarland. When I started astronomy I lived in Northern California and was a member of Sonoma County Astronomical Society in Santa Rosa, Ca. I am now a member of Astronomical Society of Kansas City.

This is great. Beats the folding chair I use with my 10” Hardin DSH.

I like it!
