I built this and it was easy. Keeps baby in and pets out. You can make it several ways but i used rail and stile… you can see the groove where there arent vertical slats but who cares its temporary. But I wanted something that matched the house, not some cheap walmart thingy. Quick was key.

Its more about the concept really… it works really nice and the wife loves it!

The stop was an after thought and you will need it. You can do this many ways depending on what kind of latch you get. Once we are done with it just a few holes to fill.

May try to sell this on CL when I am done with it.

So go make babies so you have a reason to build one :)

Nice useful project.

And I agree with you… it looks way better than the regular baby gates!

I have been gearing up to do the same thing for a hallway that is wider than available gates. I like the simple design.
