My 6 year old decided he wanted to help out dad and make a lamp. I was right in the middle of two myself and I told him he would have a lot of work to do, and had to finish this if he started it. He didn’t care, he wanted to make it to sell it and buy a motorcycle!! So we shook on it. He picked through my pile of sticks and chose the perfect base and post combination (with a little coaxing from dad) and spent at least 2 hours or more every day after school for a week hand sanding this lamp. I am very proud of him. We finished this lamp with 4 coats of Tung oil, and capped off the top under the lamp hardware with a piece of patina copper.

Cool lamp. You better watch out. Pretty soon he’ll be riding off on that motorcycle. LOL
