This was my second wine bottle box I’ve made. I used Hickory and Paduk for the sides. I finished it with Danish oil and wax. It was a gift for a white elephant party. The “joke” was a bottle of Boones Farm wine inside. Of course in certain parts of the country, Boones Farm isn’t a joke! Enjoy.

Very nice.

I see the hickory and padouk, but there is a third wood as the long part of the handle. Looks like walnut. Is it?

Yes, it was a piece of walnut I had laying around. Instead of using solid dowels, I used my miller step dowel kit. Seem to be a lot easier. Just a side note, the box was traded quite a bit before the night was over.

Great job Greg! I like the handle detail wood and design a lot. Wonderful piece. And welcome to LJs.
