Ok this tool is made of a steel rod and walnut handle turned on my lathe. Me and my neighbors insulated our garage doors for the winter. Typically your supposed to add tension to your garage spring to keep everything in check with garage door opener. So my neighbor had a steel rod he ground down to fit the spring collar. I turned a piece of walnut from a tree i cut down earlier this year and made a handle with some length for leverage. Custom made tool tensioned three garage doors and didnt cost us a dime. I know it may seem a little overboard for a one time use tool. But hey experience on the lathe and practice for some day making my own lathe tools priceless.

Watch out – wood turning is VERY addictive! Nice looking tool handle.

-- JoeR Nothing that I could make will ever be perfect but I'll use it anyway.

Great looking handle. Any time on the lathe is quality time.

Keep it up.

So…..did you turn something and use it? How did that go? :)
