I thought I would post this because it reminds me of summer. My brother in law and I were sitting around one Friday night with the wives a couple years ago. We started talking about the 4th of July party we were going to have. My brother in law said we had to have a tiki bar to make it a real party so I said lets build one. The wives just rolled their eyes as we started the planing process. We decided to name it 5 o’clock and installed a neon sign in the front to let everyone know what time it was. What you can’t see is on the other side we have a cooler for the ice, speed rail for the bottles, a hose bibb to wash the cups, a mini fridge under the counter for the mixes and an Island Oasis machine. This was before I was a member here so I didn’t take many pictures. It was fun to build and Chanch was right it wouldn’t have been a party without it.

Great job, some of my best ideas come out sitting around our outdoor bar. Blondie rolls here eyes at some of my ideas as well. Like all Lumberjocks though, were not lazy people and we like to build things. I know deep down our wives love this about us. LOL I hope.

What time are the drinks? Will be by, let us know what to bring!

Great work. Enjoy!

Men after my own heart! I have a banner outside my shop that says; “It’s 5 O’clock somewhere.”

Nice bar Clay. I am doing one this summer for my new patio. Where did you get the roof from? I’m in NY and don’t have any palms. Any do’s and dont’s for me for when i build it?

My brother in law ordered the roofing online. I don’t know the name of the place but came in sheets and went on real easy. The main thing I would have done different would be to do more research on the bamboo. We just went and cut a bunch down split it and started nailing it to the PT frame we built. It looked great for the party but after it dried out it was pretty ugly and brittle. Other than that we built it to heavy. We wanted to be able to move back and forth to one another’s house but it’s just too heavy. After we moved it to his place I think I will build another one before I move it back.

Clay,
Noticed your sig line.
Does bamboo grow in N. GA?
I’m sorta ignorant of botanical subjects.

It sure does! If you plant the stuff good luck getting rid of it. It’s almost as bad as kudzu.
