This is a jewelry box I was asked to make for a relative. The box is about 15 inches wide by 12 high, by 10 inches deep. The case is made from a single piece of cherry and the grain wraps continuously around the outside. The interior is pine and the dowels are walnut to give some contrast. I plan to add dividers in each drawer, but I am waiting to ask how the recipient would like them divided. The finish is oil, shellac and wax.

Very Nice! I’m working on a box for my daughter & I like the dowel drawer technique, thanks for the idea!

I really like how the simplistic design lets the wood grain gets all the attention. Can’t go wrong with Cherry!

great design, very classic look. cherry is such a beautiful wood. I really like the edge profile, it really completes the whole box. where did you get the hardware?

Well Done. There is something to be said for making a project from a single board – it’s even better when that board is Cherry!

Thanks for all the compliments.

To danr78: the hardware came from Woodcraft. It was the only small knobs they had in stock at the store; however they were exactly what I was looking for – I rarely get that lucky!
