My dad is an avid turkey hunter, so for christmas I decided that I would make him a turkey call. The base is made from american chestnut and walnut while the paddle is made from cherry. I finished it off with several coats of wipe on poly. THis thing took a lot of time and my dad was pleased when he opened the gift (wish I had taken pics). Feel free to comment..

thanks!

Did you design this yourself? Just wondering how you knew how to get the right sound. I know a couple turkey hunters that would love one.

Thanks for the comments thus far. Pdub, I did design this myself for the most part, I just looked at other paddle calls on the internet and looked at some forums about them and came up with an idea. My dad is still fine tuning the thing, I doubt it will ever suit him.

Thanks Michael. Maybe I’ll have to do some research as well. Hopefully your dad will get it tuned to suit him, or at least suit the turkeys.
