This Arts and Crafts style picture frame was a Christmas present for my Mother-in-law. She wanted a frame for a piece of Arts and Crafts wallpaper she had ordered. The frame is constructed of through mortise and tenon joints and I inlayed hammered copper for the dragonfly and squares. The wood is Red Oak with a Red Mahogany stain, Shellac and Wax finish. Thanks for looking…

Stunning!

I, too, do copper inlay on wood.
I reclaim copper from used and scrap plumbing pipe.
I split and flatten the metal, make hammer peened patterns and use chemicals to antique the metal.

Canexican, or hobomonk, do you use epoxy or something to glue in the copper?

bsherman, I used CA Glue to attach the inlay after I got a good fit. I attached it after a couple of coats of Shellac, I want the copper to age over time. My young daughter help me hammer all the inlay, they had a blast doing it.
