This is my first project on LJ but hopefully not the last! This is a simple box I made for my mom on Christmas.. Not a real expert on wood types and not really sure what type of wood this is. Any idea? Well the box is just mitered corners, the top and bottom are solid pieces just routed with simple bits. And green felt on the inside. I finished it in three coats of Tung oil. Well thanks for looking and hopefully I’ll have more projects to post!!!!

It’s certainly cedar of some sort – your nose will tell you if it’s aromatic. Did your shop smell like a cedar closet while you were cutting the wood??

Great job on the box and welcome to LJ’s !
