I made this one a little different. I made a dovetail “insert” from purpleheart to add some contrast.

I use the Milescraft 1207 Router Design Inlay Kitwith a V-Groove bit. Then I paint the grooves with black acrylic paint. It only takes about 10 minuites or so to dry then I sand over the design with 220 grit paper to remove any paint that went outside the lines. Blow out the dust and the design pops!
