I have completed a lot of band saw boxes but this one was a little different so I thought I would share it with all my fellow Lumberjocks.
My sister in law asked me to complete a “Man-Box” for her husband. She wanted a dark box that would hold his keys and wallet instead of having them sit out on the counter. She initially chose a design that I really disliked so I dawdled on getting it finished. I eventually convinced her to just let me have a little fun with the design and she agreed.
This little one drawer walnut box was one of the small batch I posted about a year ago but I made a significant modification. I have started turning and was making a small walnut bowl/platter. I realized that they would go very well together so I made a small indentation with a forstner bit and made two separate projects into one!
The box is about 6 1/2 inches square and the platter is about 6” across. The drawer is flocked with brown fibers. Thanks for taking a look!!
