This jewellery box was made for my mother-in-lay for Christmas. The primary wood is walnut, with the door panels and handles being made of a figured maple, which was primarily quite dark. I pre-finished everything using Tage Frid’s 4F finish, combining oil and then rubbed out shellac for a quick finish. I think for these small projects not exposed to a lot of wear and tear it is ideal, as you can essentially finish and glue up in the same day.
I estimate that this project took me about 40-50 hours to complete.
