This is one of the stands I have built for my wife. Canarywood and Peruvian walnut. The ring at the top is hinged with a hook and eye for closing. Like one posted earlier today, this is loosely based on a Taylor Guitar design. I’m not trying to outdo anyone. I was just reminded to finally post these. I added the center post to give the mandolin’s neck some stability. I used Tung Oil Finish. I glued on some felt wherever the instrument would touch. The other stand is for her guitar, a little Taylor ( I think, it’s hard to keep up with her ‘tools’). It is Bubinga and has a center support, but the neck is open. That is her prized Breedlove mandolin, designed by her cousin, Kim Breedlove. It had to have a nice stand! I have had requests for these from some of her friends, but they don’t have the influence my wife has for getting me to do projects!

Good job. The rounded edges really look nice, and I really like your neck support, should keep an expensive instrument from hitting the deck.

Think I’ll add it to mine, since I haven’t shipped it yet.

This came out really well. It is a unique look since I haven’t seen too many mandolin stands.

I really like the sculpted look.

ours share a lot of similarities but are completely different!

Beautifully done, and it looks hardy and stable.
