The whole back story to these boxes can be found here.
I finally had some time to finish these this last week of December 2007.
The boxes are made of walnut and quarter sawn white oak. Finished with Watco Danish Oil. Tiny brass screws hold the handles in place.

I love this project, we did a few last year and they were a big hit. We’re planning on makign another 6 or so this year with other types of woods. Nice work.

Glad you were able to sneak them in before year-end, John. They look great! I want to make some more too. They’re a little quicker than the other boxes I’ve been playing around with and Bob A is right. They are well received.

Thanks for all of the comments. Yes, the gifts were well received. Very easy to make. If I did them again I might do brass pins and make a stopped dado so you don’t see the little lid cutout.
