Went through the LJ site and got some inspiration for this. Used some scraps in the shop and knocked this out the day before Christmas for a little something extra for Mom.
The log portion was from a neighbor who had some trees fall on his house last winter and I picked some cherry tree limbs and some oak limbs for just such a project. 2” forestner bit for the holes, 99cent glass cups and some poplar feet. Wiped on some cherry poly to seal the log and stained the feet a dark mahogany to keep them in the background. Rubbed on a bit of wax for the final finish and taa daa!
