Hello folks
here’s a Ash platter with imitation gold leaf applied- designed to be decorative from both sides as its to be displayed on a shelf which forms a partition in a room
14” diameter
-- it can't rain all the time!!

Did you gesso the leafed area’s to make them smooth first? It looks like you must have filled that area somehow to cover the ash pores?

hello
No i just sealed the surface with zinnser BIN then used the gold size- you can see the grain pattern thru the leaf which is what i wanted
