Solid 3/4” oak, handcut through dovetails, purple heart splines. Solid 1/2” oak tray with mitered purple heart splines, lined with rigid foam and felt. Spray lacquer finish. Solid brass hardware. Walnut coin display. There are sixteen total images burned by hand. Some of the pictures were provided by the customer during the recipient’s deployment to Iraq. Other pictures were picked by me for nostalgia and design. This is my most ambitious and complex project to date. This commission took over 50 hours to complete.

A marvelous piece. A box I’m sure a Marine will be proud to call his/her own.

Very nice job on the woodworking and an excellent touch with the burned images.

Chris, I love those HAND-CUT dovetails. They look tight and so does the box.
