This log has been sitting around in the garage for a long time. I finally finished it. The was about 20” long and about 10” in diameter. I re sawed the log as shown in my last post. I sent Dusty the leftover wood so it wouldn’t go to wast. Cant wait to see what he makes with it. This was a gift for my girlfriend for Xmas. It took me a little while to cut it out, 1 week. It took 2 weeks to put a build up of finish on it. The feet are brushed nickel draw pulls. I tried to align the wood grain in each section to give a little more character.

-- Have a great day.

Hello everyone, My name is Margaret. I am the proud recipient of this Beautiful jewelry box. I have to say the pictures really don’t do it justice. It is absolutely gorgeous. It makes me feel so special to know the amount of time and thought, as well as love that was put into this. I could not feel more special or loved. Garcia really is a wonderful man, and I love him dearly. I will cherish this jewelry box forever. Thank You every one. I hope that you all have enjoyed your holiday as much as I have mine. Merry Christmas to you all.

-- Have a great day.

Now that is most definitely the coolest! Not only did you nail a home run with this incredible piece, but it sounds the recipient understands what you put into it. Now that makes it all worth it.

Well done Garcia!

This is a wonderful piece and most unusual. You have done a great job on this one and I know that your girlfriend must have been thrilled to receive such a wonderful gift.

I thought it looked great in your first post , but the finish has really brought it to life : )
You didn’t mention what you used for the finish yet …. I hope to be able to justify your leftovers , but as yet , I haven’t been able to think of anything Koa worthy : )
