This partially submerged alligator is ready to clamp his fierce jaws on to your toes if they come to close, as he lies in wait on the coffee table.
I acquired several out side figured maple slabs this summer and I could see an alligator hiding in one.
I cut out the rough shape on the band saw, ran two side through the jointer and made the eyes from purpleheart, as you walk around him the eyes never lose sight of you, even from behind, creepy.

That is some fine looking wood. I can see a lot more than an alligator for those pieces. You are very fortunate to have such beautiful wood. I hope you think of something that might bring out the beauty there. Don’t think the eyes do it.
