Beautiful pen and excellent photographic work. Very effective use of depth of field to highlight the pen. Did you have to stabilize the spalted maple or could it be turned in its native state?

It is a pen and depending on the angle you look at it from, you can see different thins just like clouds. Right now I see a dolphin

I could turn it as it was, but you have to be careful. It’s best to turn it down close to final size then soak it in thin CA to mitigate tear out and possible blow out.
