Well, this is the last of my holiday presents I made this year. I made my parents a cutting board, and my older brother and his wife a Photo Album. This is for my younger brother and his girlfriend. I was originally going to make them a photo album as well, but my concept and design took a different direction when I made and erroneous cut. So, let this be a lesson, Measure Twice, Cut Once, unless you want a challenge to create something different. lol. So, this uses the same Curly Sapele Veneer I used on the photo album. Pictures really don’t do it justice. It’s really gorgeous stuff. The frame pieces are also the same, either cedar or something similar. It was in a lot of wood I bought. And the base and top that has the photo pages attached to it, are also from that same bunch of wood I bought. I was told it was walnut but not so sure about that. Any help on the ID would be appreciated. Anyway, same finish, coat of shellac and then multiple coats of Deft Spray-On Lacquer. The glass and picture slide into a dado in the back of the frame. It fits a 4×6 pic with pages for about 100 more 4×6’s. Overall size I think was 9.25” x 3.5” x about 7.5” tall. All comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

That’s gorgeous! I’m sure they’ll love it. I like how thick it is, makes it stand out from the usual frames you seen. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Theresa, I am really glad I was able to keep this out of the firewood pile. I think it actually turned out for the better giving two unique gifts instead of two of the same. Some mistakes can be good I guess. Thanks everyone else for the kind comments as well. Much appreciated.
