We have some long time friends in Miami with an autistic child. These parents are some of the most wonderful people we know and have been devoted both to their boy and to helping other parents for the last 14 years. In addition they have been sending pics and keeping us up on their lives via email and we and everyone in our extended family read their stories and have been trying to get them to write a book for parents of autistic children.

Recently we visited them in Miami, so as a thank you gift this Christmas I made them this book rack as a subtle hint to get to writing that first book!

Anyway, got the plan from the Woodsmight edition listed in the subject line, but traded the QS oak for cherry. Still a little rough on the square openings since I don’t have a dado blade worth a dam, but since I’m just a beginner I take what I can get.

The plaque I had made by a local trophy company as the finishing touch for just a few dollars. Light danish oil cherry stain and a bit of wax rub to make the final finish and then off to Miami. With any luck they’ll have several best sellers to fill it up.

It also looks great.

The gift will be well received I’m sure. I think it looks great. Most of us have small flaws in our projects we are the worst critics of our own stuff .No one else would even notice and if they did they would be reminded we are just human.

Have a Wonderful Christmas with your friends and family
