Marathon medal case for my boss’ Christmas present. Walnut with maple accents. This is the first time I bought semi-rough lumber and milled it with my new jointer (still need a planer) and the thickness is a bit uneven, but OK. Through-tennon joinery (first try at this – need sharper chisels!). The top pops off after removing maple keys so you can drape the ribbon to the back and pin it so the medal hangs cleanly on the front. The inside is lined with pseudo-suede fabric pillaged from my wife’s sewing cabinet (likely going to hear about that later). Finsh is 3 coats of Danish Oil (no tint).
Thanks for looking!
-- cut it twice and it's still too short...

Wow!
Really like the contrasts in the wood and the use of the removable keys!
