This is a small Mahogany taza, it stands about 8” & the top dish is the same.
Thought I would play about with some aluminium pins to decorate it up a bit & add some interest, thought they would contrast with the dark timber. Also friction burnt a few detail rings which haven’t shown up very well in the pic’s.
It is finished in “home brew” sealer, denibed and U Beaut mop polished
Merry Christmass to all you LJ’s worldwide

Pete, I really like the detail of the pins in this Mahogany pedistal dish it adds so much character to the piece. The shape is great as well….
How did you ever stumble on to this combination of “home brew sealer”?
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comments,
Paul, I have about six or seven beaches in the Eastern suburbs within a few Km’s (as you know for your visits. I am in Sunnyhills / Farm Cove area.)
Chuck, I guess I have been using the “sealer” for so long, If I remember it was form an old painter when I was an apprentice sparky, he always undercoated with a watered down version of the top coat wether it was paint, varnish or whatever. I vary the ratio of poly to turps to suit the open / closed grain of the timber.
Merry Xmas Guys
