Gnome Wars

Yes Virginia there is a Gnome war going on in Kansas. We have all heard about the range war of the west well now we have the gnome wars. This all started with just one gnome being left in our yard by a friend of the family, my wife found out who left the gnome and it was payback time. Well as most wars go it escalated to the grandmother and the grandkids getting in on it now it was three families against one (us well my wife) it was easy enough at first just store bought gnomes (they realy are not that easy to find) so my wife said can you build some gnomes for me and when the kids come over we will paint them, so it was out to the shop and I made 5 small gnomes they were painted and placed. Then one day we came home to find 57 gnomes in the yard. My wife said I need bigger gnomes and this is the result. Each one is 60”X34”X1/2” plywood I am sure there is a midnight raid in the works before Christmas (can’t get caught) . I would guess that the next will have to be full 8’X4’ sheet of plywood. (and the war goes on)

Great fun.
The painting really brings them to life.

Now that is a very cool family event (or call to arms… short arms that is…lol). What a fun tradition you have on your hands. Think my bride and I may have to (as William Wallace would say) “Go Pick A Fight” with some family and friends….

Very cool and thanks for sharing….

I love it. Post pics of the yards full of gnomes if you have time. I particularly love the small gnomes. They are too cute!
