I wanted to try turning a large piece, was hoping to do a center for a new table but the wife said she didn’t want one, so decided to make this grinder stand. Wood is just dimensional fir laminated together. Painted finish. I was fun to turn once I figured out how to mount it on the lathe and keep it on. I used a plane to make it nearly round before starting to turn it to reduce the vibration caused by such a big chunk. One of these days I’m going to do a table though.

good practice, plus made something useful! It’s a win/win situation.
