A few years ago, I thought i’d get back into woodworking after a 25 year hiatus. Just popping $600+ for a General 10” contractor’s saw, I didn’t want to waste a whole lot more money in wood if I “lost my chops” so I went to the Depot, bought some 2×4’s and a piece of poplar.

Aside from lousy proportions on the legs, all in all it ain’t bad. From that little project many others have sprung forth as you can see in the gallery.

IF you lost your chops … at all … then you were truly an artist, 25yrs ago … because … you did a beautiful job on the table :-)

Thanks guys. I think that the phrasing of my comment might have been a little clunky. I’ve “been back” for about five years and if you hit the ‘projects’ link under Grantman, you’ll see what I’ve been up to.

Next project will be a secretary or sorts. Don’t know if it will be a slant front or what. No serpentine drawers – way above my pay grade – but something for the living room.

That proves the old addage “It’s like riding a bike” you’ve still got it! Welcome back & keep ‘em coming
