The Love of My Life has been busy stitching away this past couple of months making Christmas presents. She has a party that she needs a gift for and asked me to frame one of her creations. The cross-stitched Santa stands 4 ½ inches tall and wide.

I decided to frame it with a piece of veneer from my veneer pile and I cut the silhouette out with a hobby knife. The frame is from a chunk of Bocote that I ripped and resawed to size, the grain on the Bocote gives the optical illusion that the frame is out of square. For holding the frame together during the glue up, I used 20 spring clothespins, I find they work great for this type of project. The finished frame is 9×9 inches.

I like the way the frame looks. It adds to the overall fun aspect of the project.
