This unique work was discovered in my fire wood pile. Random off cuts from other work, the shapes came together with little effort. The half lap joinery of the Padauk over Cherry brings the joint flush on either side. The base features a centered lamination of Bocote, and two birch dowels that join the Cherry stem to the base. Once this piece was completed I wasnt sure of the purpose, and now I think it may serve holding bracelets, necklaces, or for conversation.
(Finished in linseed oil. (10×10x1)

I like it. Art needs no purpose.

That’s cool and from the burn pile! A visual treat! Thanks for sharing.
