That is neat looking. How difficult is pyrography? I assume that like anything else – the more you do it the better you become. What is involved in the process? Is the equipment expensive? My wife is pretty artistic, and I’m looking for some way to drag her into woodworking with me, this could be a way :-))

Tom ~ Thank you!
Bill ~ I just use what equates to a soldering pencil. You can pick up a “wood burner” at WalMart for about $20. I use copy paper to draw/trace my patterns, its about $3 a ream. Next you need some graph paper or transfer paper, not sure of the cost there. My wife had tons of it hid away. For this project I purchased a pre-cut board from WalMart for $0.97. To color I used watercolor colored pencils they are about $7. Some 0000 steel wool and a can of spray lacquer to finish. So I guess another $10.
The only thing I bought special for this was the octagon. The rest I had.
