This mahogany bar was fun to build. Overall it stands about 10ft high, including the header which is about 20ft long x 12” high. The main overhead header is a 5’ radius, and the double bullnose mouldings are 1 1/2” each for a 3” pair. There is a corresponding header on the opposing wall with a 30” clear hole through both headers for a potted tree to extend through. The decorative filler on the bar and header is hammered copper and brass (by others). The trick to this bar was the curved bullnoses and half rounds made on a curve. The edging on the bartop is a double 2” bullnose. The finish is a NGR red mahogany methanol based dye with clear lacquer finish.

A project like this makes me feel rather foolish posting my small boxes, You wouldn’t even notice a small box in this picture.

Nice work – would love more photo’s showing detail.

my first thought? “Someone MADE this?”
I am in AWE. My second thought, “FUN TO BUILD???” I’m overwhelmed just looking at the finished product! I can’t imagine starting with just a vision. Again, I am in awe!!
I can’t imagine the response of people as they first enter the room and cast an eye on this magnificent piece of art/furnishings.

My hat is off to you. Beautiful

(Oh and my third thought was: “well of course someone made it – someone has to have made everything out there” and so I’ll be taking more effort to appreciate the work I see, even if it is just a pressed board desk at Walmart)

Thank you for looking and your kind words. It all starts off on paper. It’s just a project made up of many steps done one at a time until there is a finished project. Some projects have more steps than others. If you look at it like that it’s not such a big deal.

Beautiful, got more pic of detail. Fun to build is an under statement.

Thats far too good to be a “bar”.

Is it located in your home, when is the house warming?
